We’re in difficult times. We’re facing uncertainty, food shortages and the very real possibility of losing family members.

This last happened during World War 2 and I can’t help but see certain similarities.

Profiteering and the Black Market was terribly despised then. You could be jailed or even hung.Even as a collaborator, knowing, but seeing it and doing nothing – meant you were culpable.

Remember that line. I’m coming back to that in my next blog post too.

There are those who don’t care about the suffering and hardship of others. As long as they’re okay, screw the world.

There are those who see a need and strive to fill it. People making face masks for nurses. Buying meals for truckers at drive throughs. Turning their regular production over to more needed supplies without profit.

After the sinking of the RMS Titanic on its maiden voyage, many people asked how such a tragedy could have been avoided. Over the more than 100 years since that fateful night in 1912, much has been written about the size of the ship’s rudder being too small, the inadequacy of the flood controls, and the insufficiency of the lifeboats. While all of these were certainly factors in the calamity, the incident itself might have been avoided altogether if it hadn’t been for one missing key.

Reflection

Been on my mind a bit and feel that’s important to share once again.

An incident that happened to me the other day made me stop and think about how the little tiny things really do affect how things will turn out, how they will effect the course.

I had never thought about it before. I was vaguely aware of that concept, but it really hit home yesterday about how the tiny things that we think don’t matter actually do and will have a big effect on things. And sometimes we are not aware of the effect they have on things until later. Sometimes for the better, but sometimes for the worst.
